Does it bother you to eat alone in a restaurant? Not in casual places like Panera. I think I’d be uncomfortable in a more formal restaurant.

When did you last dress up for Halloween? 2010. This was the first year in a while that I didn’t dress up!

What is the last thing you baked? Rhubarb crisp. Just made it this afternoon, and we're going to eat it in an hour or so. From rhubarb I grew last summer and have had in the freezer.

What is something odd you did as a child? Other than spend every waking hour reading? I used to try to get lost in our woods.

Well my parents were off the boat from Ireland and met alot of people at a local dance when they were with their brothers and sisters..after having kids they used to go to parties and take the kids sometimes with them (when we got a little older) we used to play with our toys while our parents used to dance and talk with their friends. I have to admit I had a lot of fun and I am still friends with a bunch of them to this day..priceless moments..

Do you have a quick beauty tip? I don't use any creams on my skin..(I have very sentitive skin) I use baby oil and pure soap (and knockwood) my skin is pretty good..Yes, that will change in a few years..Lol I will reaching out for advice then..Lol

(1) This year my birthday falls on a Monday...January 30th...but I don't want to talk about it because it'll a VERY BAD milestone. I'm turning 60!!!***#^***!!!! People ask me what I want. I always answer, "That no one mentions my birthday AT ALL!"
(2) Do I mind eating alone in a restaurant. No. It gives me a chance to think. I can't eat, talk to another person and think all at the same time!
(3) Was I ever on a hayride? No. And that's odd, since I used to live in a country area. Yet I think I can explain why I consistently avoided that experience, which is usually so much fun. I was once told a horror story about a hayride, back in the 1920's, in the town where I used to live. Word has it that the people on the wagon never came back and that the wagon was later found, overturned, on a remote road. The un-harnessed horses returned to the stables on their own, which was weird, but the human beings just...disappeared! Without a trace. When I first heard this outlandish tale I laughed at it. I assumed that it was just folklore. But later it was confirmed as true by a reliable source, i.e. a Rhode Island historian that I know very well. Creepy, huh? Maybe that's what scared me off from ever taking a hayride myself!
(4) I nearly always try to dress up for Halloween, but this past year I didn't. In 2010 I wore a red velvet dress and vampire make-up.
(5) I often visit goodreads.com, to review or read reviews of different novels. I'm a bookworm. I also visit sites about my favorite author, P.G. Wodehouse.
(6) Right now I'm wearing a red sweater, black slacks and very old shoes that I need to replace sometime soon. If I like some article of clothing I generally keep it until it falls apart. Bad habit!
(7) Nothing's hanging from my rearview mirror since I don't drive! I'm now in an suburban neighborhood with lots of buses and I save $$$$ by not having a car.
(8) Last thing I baked was, I think, pumpkin spice muffins. I threw in some raisins, which helped jazz up the recipe a bit.
(9) Poison ivy? I've had it more times than I can count, especially as a kid. If I look cross-eyed at a poison ivy leaf I begin to itch. Once, at age 10, I had the rash all over my face, neck and hands!
(10) I did all sorts of odd things as a kid. I had an active fantasy life. I played out endless soap opera scenarios with my Barbie and Ken dolls, back in the early 60's. And I collected little plastic rat finks that looked like miniature trolls, getting them out of a machine at Mammoth Mart. I also converted a shoe box into a spaceship for the rat finks---who were aliens, of course---to fly around in. They crashlanded on Earth more than once...
(11) I have a girl friend in upstate New York who likes to write letters. This pastime is fast becoming a lost art, but I struggle to keep up my correspondence with her because she's a very sweet person. I last wrote to her in January but printed my letter on Word. She, however, always answers me in long hand! Her handwriting is very legible.
(12) Quick beauty tip? The less you do to your hair the better, at least in my experience. I DO color it nowadays, but when I was younger I always used baby shampoos or something else equally mild like, say, Suave (which is also inexpensive). Too much perming can do irreparable damage to hair, so if you can possibly go with natural you're much better off.
(13) The last thing I googled was "Kneass." And you're probably wondering what that is! In my book business I'm currently selling a book about blind people---published in the 1870's---and I needed info on the printer "M.B. Kneass," who inserted a page of pseudo-braille lettering into the binding. Kinda weird, but that's who Kneass is: a nineteenth-century printer from Philadelphia.
(14) My favorite piece in Monopoly? Haven't played that game in so long that I really can't remember. Is that the one where you sometimes have to go to jail...lol...?
(15) The last person I hugged was my boy friend. A few hours ago.
(16) Can I touch my toes. Yes---but only if I bend my body in half!
(17) There are always leftovers in my fridge. Right now it's vegetables that I cooked the other night. They aren't mouldy yet and still look edible.
(18) The color of my sheets is a sky-blue background with white clouds. Got them at Bed, Bath & Beyond.
(19) There's a light powdering of snow on my lawn right now. By mid-afternoon, though, it should all be melted.
(20) Where am I at the moment? Sitting in my basement, in what we call The Gaming Room. That's where I keep my computer. It's also where my boy friend holds weekly "Call of Cthulhu" role-playing games.

Do you have a quick beauty tip? It's easy and cheap to make your own hair extensions. I made some that I wear not for additional length, but to add volume. I used real human hair; it looks great and cost me under $30 for enough materials to make several different ones. No one can tell I'm wearing them.

Do you have a quick beauty tip? If your mascara is getting a little lumpy, before applying it, warm the tube with your blow dryer for a few minutes and it will go on smooth again. I learned that from a friend in high school when doing make up for a school play.

What day of the week will your birthday fall on this year? Friday (yay, a few years of weekend birthdays coming up for me!)
Does it bother you to eat alone in a restaurant? Not really, although I'd rather do it in a fast food/casual place than a fancy place. I don't mind going to the movies by myself either.
Have you ever been on a hayride? Yep, but it's been a long time. My butt is still itching!
When did you last dress up for Halloween? Shortly after we moved into our neighborhood in '06, some neighbors had a Halloween/pajama party, everyone had to wear pajamas. I wore Lightning pajama pants (hey vg, as an honourary Canadian, do I need to spell it 'pyjamas?') and t-shirt, hubby wore the same only Buccaneers.

What is something odd you did as a child? I would only eat one thing on my plate at a time, for instance first I'd eat all the meat, then the potatoes, then the veggies. I didn't like to mix the food, and I'd get laughed at about it.

Does it bother you to eat alone in a restaurant? I'm with VG, not if it is fast food but for a real restaurant, yes. Guess that is why places like Perkins/Eat'n'Park, etc. have counters. I don't think I've ever eaten at a counter.
Have you ever been on a hayride? Yes, last one was a year ago. Yup, itchy and if there's not enough hay, hard on the poor old hind end! I remember being on one in high school and was thrilled to be smooshed up against some guy I liked. Funny thing is, can't remember who he was now!

What is something odd you did as a child? Something that I still do ... I am a counter. When walking I count my steps, when sitting somewhere I will count the people around me, or the number of chairs or tables, maybe the books on a shelf or the cars on the road. Not all the time ... just when my mind isn't occupied.
