Additional Comments: Yikes, today on the CNN ticker strip it said '' Beginning prices for a Super Bowl ticket is $2,800" . Tis hard to believe that, in this economy, there are people out there able and willing to pay those big bucks just for a football game. They must live and breath football. For that kind of money I would expect the best line seating, that included the serving of the best of wine, truffles, lobster, and seated next to me is George Clooney, ha,ha. Seriously I could come of up with many selfless ways to get rid of $2,800.

I just saw a story about this on a sports channel and they said that the average price for a single ticket is $4,000. They also said that the fares for flights from NY and Boston to Indianapolis have increased 250%! Talk about gouging. I can't conceive of paying $4,000 for a ticket to anything (except the Stanley Cup finals maybe lol) but amazingly enough there won't be an empty seat in the house. I don't know where people get the money to splurge like that, but I bet lots of folks will be paying it off for years to come. I'll be quite comfortable on my couch with some pizza and wings, thank you very much.

I'd like to know how many of those tickets are purchased by individuals using personal funds. I'm betting a very large percentage of the tickets are bought by corporations and doled out to their executives, big-ticket clients, and other companies whose business the corporation is trying to land.
IMO, it's a shame that Super Bowl tickets are so far out of reach for most of the rank and file fans who support their teams year after year. Sports and politics have been co-opted by the big corporations.

Message: I couldn't shell out that much on a game either...but just think, we can watch from our homes with friends and lots of great food AND not miss any of the commercials, lol. There's gotta be a bright side somewhere!
