HA!  So, they can't get a live audience without paying people! $30 each

What I think will happen is the Revolution will fail and go off the air and GH(which i am now watching) will probably go in it's time slot. I heard there is going to be another talk show coming to abc. Unfortunately I don't think the Spew is going anywhere. Apparently that show is doing real well.

I love Tim Gunn but didn't last very long. Can't take Ty (oy shivers).

As far as paying people I got paid to do just this when starting out. Initially they want that audience to be excited and animated so they will spread the word and get actors in there. Struggling actors need that dough.

My favorite was That's Not Fair, a game show! Never heard of it? Gee I wonder why. Everyone in the audience were actors. We were allowed to bring someone so I brought Bitt. Thank GOD. There's always a wrangler/comedian. He was so bad but Bitt kept yelling quips and he asked if he wanted the mic! Hah yes please - much funnier than that dude was.

The best part was we had to do the taping of the YELL. You've all heard the WHEEL.....OF...FORTUNE! We had to do that a number of times so they'd have a few: That's....NOT....FAIR!! Well Bitt did it along with everyone but after a while (it was such a bomb) he'd yell THIS.....IS...BULLSH!T!!

It did air but not as a game show. The host was like Uncle Floyd and had puppets. Yes you read that right so they made it into a kiddie show. They did change the name so Bitt's chant never aired. Harumph.

Millionaire also uses actors anywhere where the camera might go. I know - been there. Also they seat you by, uh, attractiveness (or lack thereof) so once my niece went with some girlfriends. They were about 19 and very cute. FIRST ROW and each time the contestant asked the audience BAM they were on camera. It happens a lot.

  • Thanks for the inside info, WE . . . so I guess The Chew also had actors in the audience at the very beginning? I wouldn't qualify anyway because I'm over 60!! Shoulda guessed that anyway; I'm not in their prized demos. /SheilaT
  • also, NEVER wear WHITE to a taping, you will be seated in the back. Black is best. - kris

They would have to pay people - I only saw around 10 minutes of it and could not believe how bad and insulting it was (getting a woman to cry over her debt while advising her to save money for her retirement, even though she can't pay her way out of the debt, LOL).  I just turned it off.  This has 'bomb' written all over it.

  • The few minutes I saw of it one day seemed lame to me. /SheilaT

Wow, I can't believe that they are paying people to come to the show. I don't watch much daytime t.v. shows anymore. I used to record some of the shows and watched them later. There aren't many daytime shows that I want to watch.

  • It's really amazing, isn't it? They sound desperate to me. /SheilaT
