After reading Rise and Shine, I picked up Quindlin's latest book in paperback, Every Last One. What a page turner. It is the story of a woman/mother whose life changes dramatically and how she manages to pull herself back together. Doesn't sound all that interesting now that I put it that way, but it is. If you liked Winter Garden, Maggie, I think you would like reading this. It's a pretty fast read. Took me 2 days of short reading.

  • I'll check in out Janie. I'm going through a drama with my own daughter right now, so not sure I want to read anything about mother/daughter relationships. I'm listening to a Lisa See book, The Interior which is very interesting. But it's the second of a three part mystery series and I should have started with the first one./mm

Yep, can't wait to get the audio version from Audible. Good to hear from Barb and Janie. BTW, I've been reading (listening to) some books by Kristen Hannah. They're real melodramas and I have mixed emotions about some. But I really liked Winter Garden.

  • Winter Garden
  • Yes, Janie. That is the book. And yes, it was brutal, but not as smaltzy as some of Hannah's other books./mm

Hi Barb, It's been a while since I've come to the board. I'm so sorry to hear about your dear grandson. I hope there will be some treatment for his condition. I had a neighbor some years ago who had a child with floppy baby syndrome and with physical therapy etc, he eventually developed normally. I will keep your family in my prayers.
I talked myself into signing up for the Literary Book Club and ordered 5 books for 99 cents. One of them is Jodi's new book. I am really looking forward to reading it. She is my favorite all time author. I just finished an older book by Anna Quinlin, Rise and Shine. It wasn't bad. Hope those who still visit here on occasion are all doing ok and had a nice Valentine's day.
