Additional Comments:

Ugh, that whole family disgusts.

Story below:

Donald Trump's sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, are under investigation in Zimbabwe to determine if their hunting trip -- which made news when photos of the guys posing with dead animals surfaced last week -- was actually legal.

The independent Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force said that Trump's sons used a South African safari firm that is not registered in Zimbabwe during their 2011 hunting trip. They reportedly killed an elephant, an endangered leopard, a buffalo, a crocodile and other "big game" animals.

The task force is currently investigating whether license and trophy fees were paid and if the South African firm had been cleared by Zimbabwe wildlife authorities to operate.

Donald Jr. tweeted after the photos became public, saying, "I'm a hunter, for that I make no apologies ... I can assure you it was not wasteful ... the villagers were so happy for the meat which they don't often get to eat. Very grateful."

I find it repulsive.  Disgusting.

Rich people killing for the fun or sport of it.

I have a bro-in law who became quite rich.

He went on an African Safari and he has a converted barn full of dead stuffed animals...even a Giraffe!

Nasty.

I don't like hunting either.  I do understand that some must hunt for food, but most that I know enjoy the "sport"of it.

THere is no sport killing an innocent animal.

I do not understand hunting. The idea of hunting for sport makes me sick. And hunting the way these guys do it, with all the modern conveniences, can hardly be called a "sport".

HOWEVER, I will say this for those who hunt for food ... I would much rather an animal live in the wild and then be quickly killed for food than "farmed", living unnaturally, never knowing freedom. So I have respect for those who hunt for their food rather than letting someone else do the killing for them. I mean, whether you hunt or buy the meat, the animal was killed either way. But doing it just for fun? And against the law as well? Ugh..

The so-called "hunting" is what cracks me up. They aren't being uncomfortable and stalking these animals. They aren't getting into mud and mess. They are being taken to where these animals are. I would not even be surprised if these animals aren't "baited". That isn't hunting, that is getting your ego fed with the least inconvenience. I have the same disrespect for deer hunters that take out piles of carrots and other things, make a bait pile and then wait for the deer. How manly!

Apparently even Donald disapproved and that's saying a lot. I hope the state officials find out how this happened and take appropriate action.

They're the epitome of spoiled, entitled a-holes. When I worked at the ad agency, one of our clients had this disgusting brochure made of their "Big Game Hunt" in Africa. I had to edit it, and it had all of these horrible pictures of these snobs holding up the animals they killed--"roughing it" in their $300 shoes and Range Rovers. I made it quite clear to my boss that I thought it was disgusting. But of course, no one cared.
Every time I hear Trump talk, I want him to walk into my fist.

  • I'm with you Anne, I am also tempted to stop watching Trump's Show Celebrity Apprentice , but I only watch that show for the celebs and tasks. eom-Nicki
  • I'm with you Anne, can't stand the guy. And as for these ''canned'' hunts, it disgusts me for people to enjoy killing these magnificent creatures for an ego boost.~~Sandy

I don't understand it, either.  One branch of my family were hunters (too old now, I guess) and they always, of course, argued for deer, antelope, elk, dove hunting, citing all the predictable arguments.  However, I never, ever liked any game I ever did eat that they all went so bonkers over.  I do give them credit that they did eat everything they killed and none of them ever hung a head in their house.

  • I just don't understand hunting at all. I guess hunting for food, but to me that would be in a different era, not in modern civilization. eom-Nicki

You know, I don't ''get'' why anyone has to hunt these big animals.  I DO understand hunting deer as otherwise their numbers would get too big and they would freeze or starve to death which is worse than getting shot, I hope.  I guess it's the challenge.  Why not just take pictures?  I cannot imagine seeing a dead elephant and knowing I ended it's life!!! That said, if it's legal there is really not much anyone can do about it. But I'll never understand it.
