Topic: George Clooney made me burn my eggs...

I was making my breakfast, scrambled eggs, spinach, turkey bacon, when I heard Clooney was arrested. Clooney along with his dad and Martin Luther King son and few others at the Sudan embassy.

George has long been a activist, was arrested and handcuffed outside the Sudanese embassy in Washington for protesting the country's blockage of food and aid from entering the Nuba Mountains area of the country, as well as its treatment of its people.

They knew they would be arrested as the embassy is private property. But he is doning what he believes in along with his father.

Beside loving George Clooney as a actor, I admire him for standing up for his convictions.

Oh I saved my eggs and had a nice breakfast!

Eh ... I dunno. I tend to not take it too seriously when these Hollywood types fight for causes, because it just seems like the trendy thing to do. But who knows ... maybe Clooney is one of the few genuine ones.

But here's why I really responded to your post: Your breakfast sounds delicious! I haven't had scrambled eggs in a while. Maybe I'll make some this weekend.

He is the real deal and a caring person for his cause. . Kind of reminds me how Audrey Hepburn was. For the breakfast a little olive oil in pan, saute chop onions, mushrooms, and spinach. Then add a egg (or 2?) I did not add milk or anything. I added the egg and stir it, till cooked. I also had English muffin, light ones. ~~Bon

I get where you are coming from RK and I feel that way too at times. I think the difference is when a celebrity lends their name to a cause they support vs. a hands-on approach. Clooney has fought for this cause for several years and it is definitely not his first time risking his life (literally) to help these people. There are many other celebs I could not say the same for. cgem eom

Bon -- Yummy! I didn't end up making eggs this weekend after all, and we already have plans for dinner, but I just might try that tomorrow. I have mushrooms to use up anyway. eom-=-RK

cgem -- I guess I don't follow celebs close enough to know the difference, lol! I have no clue which one is working on which cause. But actually going there and getting arrested does tend to lend some credibility. eom--RK

I also noticed George's father, Nick Clooney, was looking frail.  I wish him well.

They're an interesting family, including Rosemary and José Ferrer.  I see their son, Miguel, occasionally.

Does he live up in the city? I knew Rosemary was his Aunt, I forgot she was married to Jose.~~Bon

LOL, hope they all make it out of there okay!  I love George Clooney too.  Have I ever mentioned that my BF is often told he looks like George Clooney?  He was in New York City a few years ago and some people asked for his autograph and took photos with him!  Those people must need glasses though, because although there is definitely a resemblance (very similiar hair, eyebrows and facial shape), they don't look THAT much alike!  Maybe if Pete got a nose job, brown contact lenses and lost a few pounds they might!
