Topic: This is probably my weirdest topic yet! Question...

Ok, this is a weird topic but I really am interested in knowing your answers lol. Last night a question popped in my head and I asked it of my bf. I asked him if there was a line-up of feet (he can't see anything else), would he be able to identify mine? I asked him the same question but with a line-up of hands instead. He answered that he would be able to pick out my hands but probably not my feet! I was a little shocked to be honest. I could pick out his hands and feet in a line-up just like that *snap fingers*. I really don't know how he could not recognize my feet but there you go.

So yeah, very idle yet inquiring minds want to know...would you be able to correctly identify your SO's hands and/or feet in a line-up? lol

I am sure he could recognize mine feet given the huge scars from surgeries I have had in the past.  He is always commenting on my manicure so I assume he would recognize my hands too.  Yes, I would definitely recognize both of his hands and feet.

  • It’s nice that he always notices your manicure :o) Mine notices too. I think it’s just my feet that he ignores lol. Sephora

Absolutely, on both counts.  I would know those long toes and flat feet, as well as his long graceful fingers.  He says mine are too easy.  I have very tiny feet and hands.  My feet have very high arches and of course pedicured monthly helps with ID too. My hands are small , I keep my nails oval and my wedding band or wedding band groove would be a tell.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • It sounds like your hubby is pretty observant then! A high arch would be distinct. Now that I think about it, I have funny looking baby toes. So really, that should help with identification. And because of the funny looking baby toes, I never paint them and he knows it. So that would be a dead giveaway. But he didn’t quite connect the dots. Sephora
  • They notice the funniest things, but rarely the obvious. I cannot think how many times a particular exboyfriend would notice earrings but could just ignore a bandage, a new haircut, a new sweater. Select minds. Denise

Without a doubt! I;d know those bitten nails anywhere and those toes? Yep! Seriously, Ken bites his nails bad. He has since he was a child. I could identify his hands in a nanosecond!

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • It’s definitely easier with some hands/feet than others because they are distinct in their own way. My sister and I went through a short phase of nail biting when we were kids but we grew out of it. I’m pretty sure my brother went through a phase too. I wonder if it’s really common in kids as both my nieces nibble on their nails now! It’s a nervous habit, I guess. Sephora

Haha, you weren't kidding when you said it was a weird question! :)

I don't think I could identify his feet or hands, but if he knew what color nail polish I was wearing then he could identify mine! LOL! (clever?) :)

  • Seriously, I don’t even know what made me think of it! Bored that night, I guess. Hehe that’s cheating :P Sephora

I would absolutely recognize hubbylifetime's feet and hands and he would certainly recognize mine.  Both of us would be able to do so in seconds!

  • Yep, that’s how I feel. Like I’d recognize them in seconds! Obviously it depends on the line-up too. If the hands are all very dissimilar, it will be even easier. But it be tricky with a bunch of similar looking hands. Sephora

Hands probably.  Feet, no!  I think his feet look like everyone else's!!  He has stubby fingers so I'd be okay there as long as there weren't a lot of stubby fingers!  We did something sort of like that at a party one time.  It was maybe four, six couples.  First the guys were blindfolded and we ladies went down the line and the guys just lightly felt one of our arms.  They were trying to identify their wives.  I can't remember how my husband did.  We wives had to try to identify our husbands legs.  I remember thinking they all just felt hairy!!  LOL Thinking back now it just sounds like we were looking for an excuse to feel up each other!!  ;>))

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • OMG what a funny game! There is no way I would recognize his arm/leg by touch or something like that. Like you say, it’s all just hairy! Lol Bf has defined calf muscles so if he’s the only one there with muscular calves, I’d be able to feel him out. But if there is another guy with hairy, muscular calves then I’d lose. Sephora

You have to remember, men aren't detail-oriented. The synapses that should connect in their brains, well, they DON'T connect. They don't notice stuff like that. LOL

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Here I thought I was asking him an easy question lol. To be fair, he is fairly observant about most things. My dad is very unobservant. I don’t get it. I’m all about the DETAILS lol. Sephora

I am sure I could pick his out, but I doubt he could pick mine out. He is not very observant. My hands, maybe, but there is nothing remarkable about my hands. and I wear socks almost all the time I am around him, I go barefoot in the summer around the yard, but I don't like being barefoot in the house so I wear socks or slipper socks even in summer inside. I don't think he pays much attention to my feet honestly, and he is 6 feet tall, so they are a long way down for him to see if we are standing side by side, LOL! Now, he could probably pick out me clearing my throat or sneezing or even the sound of me walking through a room (He can always tell which of us walks up behind him without knowing who we are) --he is a musician after all, and remembers sounds the way I remember images.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • LOL at him being 6 feet tall and a long way away from your feet. That’s so true! I’m 5 ft tall and bf is almost 6 ft 3 so the feet are definitely waaaay below his line of vision haha. I know his feet probably because when I look down, they aren’t so far off from me lol. Now you have me thinking if I’d recognize his throat clearing or sneezing. I don’t know if I could. That’s a hard one unless someone has a really distinct way of clearing their throat (like my boss!). That’d be a neat ability to have. Sephora

Fun Topic!   I think your boyfriends should be able to recognize your feet, especially since they are probably always manicured and painted?

It's a yes to both me and my hubby.    But we've been together for over 12 years.

  • Yes, they are always painted and everything. But I guess they have no other distinctive feature he can use to id? Maybe it’s harder than I think! The whole discussion just took on a life of its own as we moved on to whether we could ID our noses. He actually thinks he'd be able pick out my nose. Lol Sephora

I am certain my husband could id me on both counts. I am pretty sure I could id his hands but not as certain about his feet. In 18 years, I have rarely seen them, he is socked 99.99% of the time.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • I know, right? That should be his ‘punishment’ lol. Wow, your hubby is socked almost all the time?! Is it because he’s cold? I can’t stand the feeling of socks unless I’m wearing shoes, of course. Sephora

Yes, Mr. Ingy could easily pick out my hands and feet.  My hands are easy because my left hand has a dark freckle near my thumb and both index fingers are beginning to twist inward toward my middle fingers (due to arthritis).  Likewise, my right foot has a subtle idiosyncrasy that Mr. Ingy would recognize.  I'm sure I could recognize his hands and feet, too.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • My bf also has a small idiosyncrasy in his feet which would help with recognition. I suppose that’s the problem with my feet…apart from them being pedicured, they don’t have any unusual marks/identifiers. Maybe I underestimate how hard it would be to pinpoint feet that have no particular identifying features. Sephora
