Today is the Cardinals home opener...with the Cubs!!

One of the local TV channels is devoting their "magazine" show to the Cards. One of the segments was the food choices at the ballpark. Good Golly! Remember back in the "olden" days when hotdogs, peanuts, popcorn and beer was the food of the game? Now it seems one can get just about anything to eat while at the ballpark. I like the old way better. How about you?

The game is this afternoon. Rain is in the forecast. It's raining now (I'm about 30 miles from downtown), but that won't stop today's Cardinal Home Opener fun!

I haven't been to a ball game in years, but when we went we brought our own food.  No $10.00 hot dogs for me!

  • The food prices are crazy and why do they need to offer so many restaurant booths. Give me the olden days. :)Tori

So, who won?   I've been gone all day.    I remember the first time we went to Wrigley Field when the Cardinals were playing the Cubs.    I had been a Cardinal fan for years before converting to the Cubs and I was really torn in that game.   NOT a problem I had after that though.   :-)

  • After a two hour rain delay, the Cubs won. This early in the season I don't mind that, but it was the home opener. :)Tori
  • Would you believe we sat in the stands at Wrigley Field for THREE hours one day waiting for the game to start? I can't imagine doing that now. But we didn't mind. Talked to the people around us, ate nachos, etc. :-) Gail

I haven't been to a major league game in probably about 20 years. We live between Toronto and Montreal so we could see either the Expos or Blue Jays. The Expos were closer. I'd like to see a Blue Jay game this year hopefully sooner than later. I would like to see them before they fall completely out of it. That's usually sometime in June lol.

  • I'd much rather watch or listen to the games than be at the ballpark...I don't like the crowds. Hope you get to see the Blues Jays before they give up for the season. lol. :)Tori
