I found out some information on the theme for this week and about Phillip's problems. This week will be "British Week". No one is exactly sure what that means yet, but that is it. Nothing was mentioned as to a guest mentor, but the guest performers for the Results show will be Carrie Underwood and Coldplay.

Now for some information on Phillip. Everyone wants to know what is happening with him. First,let's go back to March when we first heard of his problem. Here is an excerpt from his father as to Phillip's problem. This was an update from March 8, when Phillip was first rushed to the hospital:
Phillip’s dad tells TMZ … his son has had 5 kidney stone procedures to remove kidney stones. He says it’s been a problem since October. As for performing, we’re told Phillip is determined to continue on A.I. and will postpone any type of procedure … at least until he knows the results tonight. But it’s still really painful.

TMZ has learned, he’s still determined to compete … even after undergoing an extremely painful medical procedure. TMZ broke the story, Phillip — who has a long kidney stone history — was rushed to a medical facility last week, complaining of some nasty abdominal pain. According to sources, Phillip underwent a procedure to install a ‘stent’ in his kidney — a kind of medical tube thing — to help alleviate a blockage caused by kidney stones. Here’s the catch — stents are super painful … the kind of pain that makes it hard to compete on a nationally-televised singing competition. But Phillip’s dad tells us, his kid wants to stay in the competition as long as possible — despite the excruciating pain caused by the stent … and won’t have it removed ’til his “Idol” run is done.
Lastly, is a report from Phillip's mother just last Sunday, March 22nd on how Phillip is still in excruciating pain ~ Phil Phillips Ongoing Health Issues – Mom Requesting Prayers
Phil Phillips was suspiciously absent from last week’s Ford commercial (and this week's commercial), which led some to speculate he might still be suffering from the health issued that plagued him early in the competition. Phil’s mom confirms he’s still not feeling well and is asking for your prayers on her Facebook page:
“I have a special prayer request. Please stop and pray a special prayer for Phillip. He is in a lot of pain and I am sad about it. I just wish he felt good. I love him so much and wish I could be with him. He would appreciate the prayers too!”
Albany Uncovered, contacted Phil’s father, Donnie Phillips who said that, due to the hectic schedule, “contestants are getting very little sleep and it’s starting to take a toll on Phillip especially when combined with his ongoing kidney stone issues.”
Phil had a stent put in early in the competition to deal with his painful condition.
Now we know why Phillip is still in pain and why Jimmy said that it is affecting his performances. He was able to make the Top 3 this week, but will he be able to stay there? Too bad there isn't anything else they can do at this point. I guess to take care of it more permanently would require him to leave the competition. One question I do have on all of this information is in the last one with Phillip's father's name. All along we have been hearing that Phillip is a Junior, named after his father who is Phillip Phillips, Sr. So why does it say his father's name is Donnie Phillips? Anyone know?
My prayers are with Phillips. I had one large stone that had to be removed. It made me throw up a few hours after eating, and I threw up black bile, which smelled very bad. It was terrible. The paramedics came out, and said that I had indigestion... I could have died. The family doctor said re-flux, but I had to go to a specialist to learn what it was.
I hurt, and don't see how he is standing the pain with 5 of them. I've never had a child, and didn't want to be butched with the "cickle cut" (what I call it), I got the darts. I've heard men can't stand pain, and women can much better. My pain, as a female was horrible... So, him being a younger guy must help.

ahhh poor Philip :( what a total bummer. He hides his pain well... when I got to the part about his Dad's name I thought the same thing, thought he was a Philip as well... who knows, maybe he goes by his middle name. I did notice he was missing from the commercial as well, but maybe he needed the rest or something. Those commercials are cheesy so to me its no big deal he's not in them.
Philip is my favorite and I want him to win... I hope he can keep up.
I would think British night means they have to choose songs from British artists.
