I wasn't expecting much, since so many of their made-for-TV movies are pretty lame, but this one is pretty well done. Stars Eddie Izzard (who looks great), Donald Sutherland and Elijah Wood, among others. Is in 2 parts which will undoubtedly be repeated many times.
I've always thought of it as a real boys' movie, with all the pirates and fighting. The book's a classic, and if your boy has read it I would encourage you to have him watch this since I think he'll enjoy it. But I'm a girl (well, a grown one), and I'm liking it too! Kind of a logical form of "Lost," ha ha.
