Topic: That joke of a Physical Therapy place!

Additional Comments: I have had PT countless times and the places are very busy, there's a front desk and you can't just go barging in there like it's a social function.

The whole world can just walk in this place and watch, have discussions with the patients or The Great Sarge, make phone calls, or grab someone aside from their session.

And DIVA Jack proposing marriage to Nikki there! Those two kissing and making goey eyes....Wow, what a romantic setting, Jack. He just can't wait to get in his zillionth marriage proposal so he does it all sweaty in his chair at the PT facility!

Except for the fact that some long time characters still reside in a hotel room (e.g. Adam) or others play musical apartments (Daisy, Eden, Ricky, etc.),  I think Y&R still does a pretty good job with managing their set budget.  Just be glad this isn't Salem where they'd probably roll a rack of barbells out into The Horton Town Square and have it pass as a Physical Therapy Center.  Every once in awhile three or four people from central casting would walk by in athletic wear.  One of them would be on crutches.

Yes, so true. And I also have to laugh at the two day players in the background.

I imagine the physical therapy scenes contain about as much realism as the courtroom scenes and all kinds of other scenes we could name.  It does seem silly that Nikki et al are able to intrude on Jack's sessions at will.

Although I'm certainly behind Jack's desire to walk again one thing bothers me about these scenes.  They seem to be implying that Jack learning to live in a wheelchair is somehow "giving up."  Seems to me that would be sort of insulting to disabled viewers out there who live full lives despite their condition.

  • YES, thank you Periodot. I am disabled and can only walk short distances. I have to use a wheelchair, so what? It's the pain that bothers me, and Jack doesn't appear to have any discomfort or pain at all. He should be grateful for that. csd

Yes the entire thing is so silly, and if my therapist showed up constantly where I was, I'd think he was stalking me . Out of the blue Sarg is at the coffee shop and around town.

Very sloppy writing, I agree! But then consider when Victor was ''holding court'' in prison. It was as if he had his own wing to meet with people who were coming and going all the time! I just know Connie was outside the cell door fending off potential visitors for the old goat. So it doesn't surprise me that the PT room would be a visitors' paradise!
