....Daniel is having a hard time dealing with Cassie's death.

And, it just happens to be on the anniversary of her death.  The rest of the year?  I doubt if he even remembers her name.  Everyone related to Cassie in GC, especially Sharon, is positively grief-stricken on the death-anniversary, yet the rest of the year?  She seems to have amnesia about Cassie, as do the other "mourners".

As I said last year, when the same subject came up, I do not commemorate the "anniversary dates" of my parent's death.  I miss them all year around.  Some days I do not think about them at all, and some days I miss them so much, I can hardly stand it.

But let's do away with Cassie's anniversary day.  If they want to mention it in passing, then that's fine.  But, I'm no longer grieving with them anymore.  How can one turn on the tears for only one day, and then seem to completely forget she ever existed the next?

Guess I'm just being a cynic.  But, enough-is-enough-is enough, already. They need something new to write about.  And, BTW, if Daniel is going to be that "upset" dealing with her death, and his part in it, you would think that he would have embraced Lucy the moment he set eyes on her, and protected her, and would want to be a part of her life.  This only happened after his mommy pressured him into it, and then he finally had a "revelation".

If they want people to take something away with them from her death, so that it makes them a better person, then that's a good thing.  But, I don't see where that happened.  Nick is still a cheater, Sharon is still a cheater, and the whole Newman family is still screwed up, and probably always will be.

To quote Kay, "Oh dear Lord in Heaven!"  Will Ghost Cassie come back to tell everyone that everything going on currently is meant to be and, more importantly, will Ghost Cassie have aged?  That's what I love the most - her aging.  Forget those other ghosts you've heard about or read about before...those lame-o's in period dress and what have you...that remain the same as the day they died....not Ghost Cassie...she keeps up with the times, LOL

In a sea of stupid plots, this fits right in.  Cue the Nick and Sharon sorrowful looks at What MIght Have Been while Phyllis looks hatefully on....*sigh*

  • How true! When you are ''Ghost John's'' age, another few years older is hard to tell. But with Cassie, each year is a big difference. Guess we won't be seeing her again!.........................DR

Truly baffling, since everyone knows Cassie killed herself.   I mean - not only did Daniel have absolutely nothing to do with Cassie stealing his keys, getting behind the wheel of his car, and illegally driving the both of them into a telephone pole, but he also had nothing to do with her deciding to pull the tubes out of herself in the hosptial and leaving the place to traipse all over town to make the staph infection she had ten times worse!   Good grief!   As I recall the twit didn't even bother to fasten a seat belt around Daniel whom she could have killed! .. PLEASE STOP !!!

I put death dates out of my mind. I told people Please don't send me a card saying ''Thinking about you''. I love to talk or hear  about incidents or memories of their life instead of one horrible day.

I just can't relate to making the death date indelible.

  • I think most people don't. And if they have the urge to go to the cemetary, they don't wait until the anniversary date comes around. But, in GC? Things are strange..........................DR

Remember the shrine to Cassidy's memory in Crimson Lights? (I guess Nick and Sharon still owned the place at that time.) I wonder where the big picture ended up.

Daniel has emotional probs because Philly was his mom. He was addicted to Internet porn, destroyed his marriage to Lily, and sometimes is very blasé about things and overreacts to others. He tends to not think things thru and acts on impulse quite a bit. That said, the yearly Cassie tribute has gotta go. I no longer care. Nick is still the same old horndog and Sharin' needs a complete lobotomy ASAP. Dear Y and R, please let Cassie RIP.

  • They just have to. You are so right. They even removed her portrait from the ''Cassie's Place'' at Crimson Lights. They need to go further.........................DR

I agree. I'm tired of the annual Cassie memorial. I know they do it as a psa against drunk driving but it needs to end. Please, make this the last year...

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • What bothers me about this ''PSA against drunk driving'' is that nobody was driving drunk - Danyell chose to sleep it off rather than drive drunk. It should really be a PSA against underage driving without a license while wearing uglya$$ clunky heels!...deirdra
  • Deirdra - Ditto! .. Trying to couch this yarn into anything having to do with drunk driving was fairly ludicrous. For all intents and purposes, Daniel did the right thing. As I recall, he basically knew he was going to get wasted and actually planned to sleep it off in his car, in the park. IOW, the smart, logical thing to do. If there's a PSA about anything, it should be ''silly girls lying to their parents, trying dress-up and act older than they are, and breaking the law by thinking they can drive a car.'' Instead of a PSA for MADD, let's make it MADB ''Mothers Against Disco Boots!'' - RME Laird
  • ''Mothers Against Disco Boots''!!!!!! (LOL). It also could be a PSA about driving a car that does not belong to you - without permission - and, without a license..............................DR

I'm with you. Enough is enough. Maybe there's some plot tie in that we aren't aware of yet. Shrug.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • If they haven't portrayed a plot-tie-in by now, I doubt if there is on in the future. At least, it wouldln't make alot of sense to alot of people that weren't watching back then, and don't really know who Cassie is/was.................................DR
