Message: Usually they drag stuff out like this for days....sometimes weeks. Maybe the reason they didn't show it is because they will use it in flashbacks?

They didn't show it, but when Abby came back into the church, she told everyone that Patty had told her to lie down on the ground, but then Ronan and Paul showed up, and Patty apparently decided to take off without her hostage.
