Additional Comments: My sister lives 1000 miles away and we talk on the phone almost every single day. We both love Y&R. However, she never reads spoilers or gets on message boards. I am a spoiler-aholic. My sister's shocked reaction to Gen buying Beauty of Nature has me rethinking my habits. I knew for a long time that Gen was going to be the winner. Along with that I knew that Sharon was going to blab to Adam, Nikki killed Diane and I know what is going to happen with/at Jack and Jen's wedding and I kinda wish I didn't. I realize that I miss being shocked or surprised with the direction that a story takes and I miss just sitting back and enjoying the stories. Instead, I find myself being annoyed with what the writers have decided to do even though the plot hasn't even happed yet. Soooooo, I have tried to go spoiler free before and have not been successful for very long. This time, I am DETERMINED to get and stay spoiler-free! Wish me luck. It will be hard because no way am I ready to give up my message board. :)

Message: I used to avoid spoilers so I could be surprised. But so often, people gave away spoilers either in their topic title or when responding to a topic so I just gave in. I have to say, I do miss the element of surprise sometimes.

Message: It never occurred to me that there were spoiler addicts out there, but I'm with your sister. I prefer the element of surprise, which is why I despise spoilers in the topic title-it's just so rude! Sometimes I come across a spoiler in a post, but most posters are polite and warn readers beforehand.

I very seldom read the spoilers.
Once in a great while I'll peek, but hardly ever. I just don't want to know what happens before it happens.

I enjoy the spoilers very much, I have to admit. At one point, I decided to go spoiler free, but really did not work because Canada sees the show one day ahead and they like to talk about it too. Can't blame them for that, just blame the show for broadcasting on different days.

Message: I like the spoilers because it gives me a chance to not watch what I'm not interested in, like Gloworm and Angelo and Jeffrey and that whole gang.

Message: I've been giving serious thought to stop posting spoilers because there seems to be so many people posting them. I came to the conclusion that if I don't someone else will. I still don't know what to do.

Message: Sometimes I like being surprised and sometimes not. So I decided to read spoilers just for storylines that are not going the way I would like them to so I find out if they are going to get better. It works for me.

Even though I read ahead, I like seeing how the actors interpret it.
There's no way a written spoiler can be as fun as seeing the scene visually. In fact, the spoiler enhances my anticipation. Sort of like movie trailers do.
Just my opinion, I get that some don't want to know.

I think it is very difficult to go cold-turkey in regards to spoilers.
I think I should just be satisfied with the next day previews
at the end of the show and leave it at that. Good luck
