Topic: What is the surest way to get you to stop watching the show?

This ranges from completely tuning out for several weeks or months, to something longer-term or permanent.
For me, I really don't know what it is. There are some days, or at least scenes that are okay, or good, but overall the show is insulting and boring me to death. Still though, I watch. I would have to say that, for me, focusing endlessly on boring characters we have already seen non-stop, play out the same tired storylines, is the surest way to slowly weaning me off. Lately, I have often turned off the program when I simply don't care to finish to the end.
They are doing a pretty good job with the endless story of Victor being the nucleus of most of the stories. I am really getting tired of the vets, Ashley being a big one. The other day, that "being a mole on the inside for Tucker" was another example of 'hasn't this been done TO DEATH' already?

Message: If they constantly played the "Adam and Sharon" theme. See the second scene of Friday's (2/3 US show) or picture Sam and Sharon in the barn.
Today I said "NO" to the show because it's too much of a downer. Adam and his blindness, Jack may never walk again (of course he will), crazy psycho Patty, boring as hell Cane and Lily. What more could I ask for.... gonna take a break for a while I think.

Message: I will never stop watching. If I could, I would have done so already when Sharon slept with Adam in New Orleans.

Well so far I haven't got to that point. But I do skip a show now
and ten when I am not in the mood to watch say on Wednesday
for instance. I just couldn't take the sanctimonious Newmans and Abbotts
one more day.

Message: I might not watch for awhile if another animal were "killed". I got a little nervous last week or so, when Fisher was barking outside the shed where Patti was, thinking please do not go there again....I did quit watching for a year, a few years back. It was when it looked like they were going to go with an Alzheimer's storyline for Katherine's confusion and memory loss, but it turned out she "just" had Lyme Disease and was cured in 5 minutes. I have a nephew who has suffered with Lyme for years, and it infuriated me that they just used it,and then dismissed it to change the story. For all the scripted PSA's that have been done for so many diseases over the years, it angered me that they didn't delve into it with Katherine, even for a short time.

I will not stop watching. I only FF the things I don't like.
Sometimes, characters return with a good storyline. What I could dispense with is the same character(s) having front burner storylines all the time or being seen in every episode. These days, I FF Nick and Phyllis and all of Nikki's appearances. They don't help any storyline get along. They are just fillers for the writers' dry spells.

Message: I still enjoy the show - yes it's been better but it's also been worse. There's always ups and downs. There are always interesting storylines and boring ones going on. I've been watching for over 25 years so it would take a LOT to get me to stop watching. I don't like all the negativity that says the show is terrible. I'm a loyal fan. Yes, i get frustrated sometimes but I always have something to enjoy especially the characters and acting by my faves. I even have fun laughing at the dumb parts (I thought Patty in the wedding dress was very funny for example). Y and R rules! Even when it's bad, it's fun to me.

I'm pretty sure I'd stop watching if TPTB were to pair Victor & Phyllis and play them 22 episodes per month with them being in a relationship that turned them into the Jonathan & Jennifer Hart of Genoa City. As such , they'd be working together to solve mysteries and crimes while leading the lifestyle of the rich and famous. Even putting Paul in the ''Max'' role and having Segundo serve as a substitute for ''Freeway'' wouldn't be enough to keep me on board.

Message: I don't think I could stop watching it. I'm addicted. I don't always watch daily however. I usually catch up on this board if I feel I've missed something, but if I'm patient, I can figure out what I missed by watching a few shows. Sometimes I take a break if it gets too annoying or the story takes too long. That return of Sheila comes to mind, or the zoo jail. Or the ick romances of say Nick and Diane or Sharon and Victor. I tuned those out.

I've watched this soap from day one and have hardly missed an episode. I'll continue to watch until, or if, the soap is cancelled.
I never watch this soap in it's time slot. I DVR both of the soaps I watch, therefore making it easy for me NOT to watch what I don't care to watch. I just fast forward through the many dull and boring scenes.
I have to admit that there's a lot of storylines here that can be annoying, sickening, maddening, ridiculous, unrealistic, unbelievable, too drawn out, too quick to end, disgusting and bizarre, but hey, I love this soap and I just take it with a grain of salt and do a lot of eye rolling. I don't take it seriously. It's just a break in the day that I enjoy.

If this board folded. Hands down.
If they made Adam any less intelligent than he is or less of an astute businessman. His one-liners are funnier because of that.
If they put Cane and Lily, Nick and Phyllis, Abby, Ashley and Tucker (together) on frontburner SLs.
If they kept Tucker and Ashley together (Ashley is boring and doesn't appreciate Tucker), and if they decided to keep nibby Tracey around (I know there are Tracey fans, but she got on my last nerve hovering over Jack and spouting off about how important family is, and how often has she been around???).
If they did away with the lush, rich scenery (like freshly cut flowers, crystal chandaliers, furniture, and wallpaper).
