Topic: Pretty Boy Ricky is lethal

Additional Comments:

He seemingly has inherited some of Isabella's psychotic impulses.

When asked by Nick if she was going to write about Jack, Phyllis assured him that she was not.

After he left, there was a knock on the door. Ricky stood there, looking smug.

"They got Patty," he smiled lavishly, "and I was right there with her. Up close and personal with the psycho-shooter. This story is going to be HUGE. I'm talking Pultizer, boss," he sneered, looking scintillated.

I sensed that there was a compelling reason that Ricky was so empathetic with Patty, playing with her mind.

This is his big chance, and he's going to make the most of it. Maybe even write a book . . .

I am extravagantly pleased to finally see an abundant amount of life surging through Ricky.

I'm actually looking forward to more of Ricky which is major if you consider that before this latest storyline he was mostly dead in the water....he turned on the annoying Heather and drove her out of town (good) but then eventually didn't follow thru on getting Syphillis sued and jailed (bad)...so I was beginning to wonder what his purpose was...Although I have to admit that getting Heather out of town all by itself makes me his #1 fan LOL

I do feel bad that Paul will have to deal with yet another havoc creating family member.

  • I don't give a damn about Paul, Flower, but I am most certainly looking forward to watching Ricky create some havoc. Some wild havoc! .... Joe H

There a soulless quality to Ricky that I find creepy and fascinating at once...he has cold dead fish eyes, even though he is physically attractive.

Even in the midst of Adam's Grand Guignol misdeeds and atrocities, there was a hint of a conscience beating underneath it all, like when he wept on the staircase after causing Ashley's fall.

But I see nothing like that with this guy.

  • His eyes are certainly dry and vacant, Angelique, which to me makes him all the more intriguing .... Joe H

I disagree with those who are saying he is being written as psycho. Rather, I think they are creating another Adam or Phyllis. Someone who is not all bad but who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

  • Although I haven't read anyone thinking he's psychotic, I agree Ricky is willing to pull out all stops to get what he wants .... Joe H

Is anyone else suspecting that TPTB may be grooming Ricky to step into Adam's shoes in the event MM goes on to bigger and better things?  (Not that Ricky would be TGVN's newest longlost son but rather the town's resident young sociopath).

  • Interesting. Has MM indicated that he wants to move on? -Elyse
  • With Adam seemingly being semi-reformed, that is a possibility .... Joe H
  • Elyse, not to my knowledge but MM is young and has done other prime time tv work in the past so it's always a possibility that he may not stay with Y&R for the longrun. TPTB have invested greatly in having a next-generation young male villain front and center, and would have a hard time finding someone as good as MM to recast in the Adam role. So it's possible they're simply positioning another character to become the villain in the event the Adam character is no longer viable. Just me speculating. ~i&b

  • Yes, Paul is aware that Ricky lied about how he located Patty. After all this time, maybe Paul will have a front-runner story .... Joe H

I've been impressed with this kid's acting over the past few days, Joe! As someone who grew tired of the Patti story long ago, I was surprised to find myself hanging on every word in their scenes. I hope Ricky causes all kinds of trouble-- especially for Syphyllis.

  • Ooh, yes, Mary, his recent acting has been breathtaking. I want to see where his ambition and lust for power takes him, and I truly want to see his squash Phyllis .... Joe H
  • I totally agree too! I can easily see him grinning and stabbing Syphy in the back.
  • Well, if he's going to stab Syphy, please let me know when it comes on because THAT I truly want to watch, sitting right up in front of the TV!

    He's a creepy looking, ass!

  • That's why I like him --- he's willing to use anyone, including an aunt whom he even never knew before, to get ahead .... Joe H
  • Wow! What a stinker that young man is. He's ambitious and has no scruples. He'll use his father's sister, his own aunt to get himself ahead. I do think it' was clever to have Paul's son return and turn out to be such a lout. - Paula
  • Paula, I totally agree,he is someone to be feared. The actor is doing a great job with his eyes.tj

I don't think TPTB knew what to do with Ricky there for a while.

Then it dawned on them.  Hey, Isabella, his mother, was a psychotic lunatic.  Lets breath some life into Ricky and turn him into an evil, blood thirsty spawn.

I feel bad for Paul though.  He not only has a crazy sister, now his son may possibly be going down the same road.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • I wouldn't go so far as to call him ''blood thirsty'' yet there's something sociopathic about him. He was able even to stun the vile Phyllis .... Joe H
  • I guess now that they writers are turning Adam into a good guy, they need someone to take over the bad man spot! So now we have Rikky! ~~Bon

  • I love Ricky's character - Adam IMO, he will always be evil....he can't help himself!
  • And neither, apparently, can Ricky! .... Joe H
