Additional Comments: We had a gas fireplace put in about a month before Christmas and I love the decorations on it this year. I usually take my decorations down before New Year because I'm off from work and have time. I think I'm enjoying the fireplace decorations so much I haven't taken anything down in the house as of yet.Everything out doors is put away, but we live in western NY and you have to take advantage of warmer dry weather to get it put away without snow and cold. Lot of work doing the inside house, and it looks so pretty.

Message: I follow the twelfth night/Epiphany rule: Jan. 6. That's for the indoor decs. The outdoor lights, however, may take us a little longer to take down, probably a little before Dr. King's b-day. They're so beautiful and hubby worked so hard to put them up I think we'll keep them up a bit.

My husband was reading something in the newspaper yesterday that all decorations should be down before the new year..something about a "Bad Luck" omen..anything still up brings bad luck to you.
Well, I guess a lot of us are going to be "Cursed"..I still saw some "Santa's up" last night...not to mention a lot of beautiful lighting..including ours outside..which will be taken down today...

Message: I usually start taking down decorations on New Year's Day. Since we were in Florida this year I'm taking them down today. I keep my evergreen wreath on the front door through January, just change the Christmas bow for a blue and silver one. I keep the poinsettias out as long as they last and keep most of my snowmen out through the winter. That way the house doesn't seem so bare once the holidays are over.

I can never make it to Epiphany.
My family usually calls me Scrooge, Grinch, etc. .. cuz once Christmas is over I want it DOWN and put away. But the last couple of years (including this year!) .. I've caved in to their demands and left it up through New Year's Day.
So first thing tomorrow morning (after my coffee, of course!) .. guess what I'll be doing?!? : )

Message: I was sick and worn out most of Dec. So it took me a long time to put everything up, tree, my little village, Nut crackers, fireplace decorations, kitchen, bathroom, outside. So I want to enjoy as much as possible. I will probably start to take thing down this week, when I have time. I have a lot of stuff and lots of boxes, so everything is labeled. Have to put everything in the right boxes. Takes time. Probably get tree out on next pick up.
It is kind of depressing to have everything gone!

Message: It has been our usual habit to take our tree down on New Year's day, so it came down this morning. I used to put it up on Thanksgiving evening, but this year Hubby dragged his feet on getting it down from the attic until the first week in December, so it seems like it was just yesterday we put it up.

Message: Growing up, I always helped my Mother un-decorate on New Year's Day and for the most part I've held to that tradition. But this Christmas season went by so quickly that I'm having a hard time getting motivated to start de-nuding the tree already.

Message: I prefer to take them down the day after Christmas but with me working out of town, they are still up! They are coming down today so I can reclaim my living room.
