What they did to those Taliban dead..wrong on all levels.

Don't know what were you thinking..if anything but revenge? Maybe someone you loved was killed infront of you, a brother, a father, sister..? All of you are leaving this country, Iran Irag..some are still there trying to get out safely. We don't need to put our american soldiers in any more danger who are still not out in one piece.

You don't show disrespect to the dead..even our enemies. I've never had anything to do in life involving the military..don't know the mindset, the horrors some of you have witnessed..I'm sure some of you will have nightmares the rest of your lives..but what they did and was laughing about it..wrong.

I just got this email.  Couldn't have said it better myself:

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.), a former Army lieutenant colonel, sends THE WEEKLY STANDARD an email commenting on the Marines' video, and has given us permission to publish it.

“I have sat back and assessed the incident with the video of our Marines urinating on Taliban corpses. I do not recall any self-righteous indignation when our Delta snipers Shugart and Gordon had their bodies dragged through Mogadishu. Neither do I recall media outrage and condemnation of our Blackwater security contractors being killed, their bodies burned, and hung from a bridge in Fallujah.

“All these over-emotional pundits and armchair quarterbacks need to chill. Does anyone remember the two Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division who were beheaded and gutted in Iraq?

“The Marines were wrong. Give them a maximum punishment under field grade level Article 15 (non-judicial punishment), place a General Officer level letter of reprimand in their personnel file, and have them in full dress uniform stand before their Battalion, each personally apologize to God, Country, and Corps videotaped and conclude by singing the full US Marine Corps Hymn without a teleprompter.

“As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”

  • In the words of Barney Frank, ''Exactly what planet do you live on?'' Yes there WAS outrage at all of those atrocities. I think you're practicing a little political correctness all of your own, the Fox News kind...Mitch

I have deep feelings about anyone disrespecting the dead..you don't do this no matter what. What you do in life..follows you in the next life after you've passed on..no escaping that final judgement. Any americans living in Irag, Iran..get out now..we don't belong there for any reason..not even for the Oil. This is what this ten year war was about..Oil.

You are right about one thing.  None of us have any idea what goes on over there, i.e. what these soldiers see and hear.  I say, walk a mile in their boots, and I'm pretty sure you'd have a different mindset.  I don't condemn what they did at all.  I'm darn sure it's pretty minor compared to what these Taliban sickos have done in their miserable lives.

  • What a limp argument. We're in real trouble when we start excusing crimes because the Taliban has done worse. //SqueezeMe

I have a feeling this type of thing goes on a lot more, Glitter.  The only reason we heard about this one is someone posted it online.
