Additional Comments: I have been doing some re-purposing of things from the thrift shop. My purpose really is to make some neck scarves for the homeless. But one pair of corduroys made 2 good scarves and then I had the top part of the jeans left. So I made 2 purses. I'm not happy with the strap but will figure out something better. Anyway here it is. What do you think?

Very cute, CG! I think it's a great fabric for a purse but those must have been one hideous pair of pants!

  • I actually sort of liked them--but being a size 6 isn't likely around here! eom CG

Very nice, CG, I love the fabric.  My grandmother always knew how to repurpose old fabric.  She made rag rugs and crazy quilts out of our worn out clothes.  I'm sure the recipients will be blessed with your creations, as always.

I do a lot of recycling when it comes to sewing and re doing. I buy Irish print cloth and make purses out of it..I love cable cord for purse straps..it's easier to deal with. I wear a lot of cargo pants..sweat pants..when the color starts to fade..I spray paint over them and use frabric paint to spruce them up..and lots of glitter paint. I love sparkle paint..and dont get me started on "glow in the dark" paints"..lol. I used to do a lot of "beading" but it takes too much time to do all that.
