Hi all! I am one of those people who loves politics, but isn't fully aware of what they are talking about. I keep getting roped into these political discussions at work, and I don't have a leg to stand on. I am left-leaning, but I want more than just CNN. I want to know of the good websites that can debunk all of the crap the right-wings at my job try to throw my way about Obama. I also want to know the good and bad about Romney. What is the best, most time-efficient way to educate myself so I can actually talk intelligently to these people? I downgraded my cable to basic only for awhile, so I am looking primarily for online sources.

i&b-I always value your insights when it comes to politics and you seem to always verbalize what I am thinking, but you say it so much better than I ever could. I would particularly love recommendations you could give me since we fall under a similar political ideology. :)

CC, my advice is to read a variety of sources. I like to start with the New York Times because their opinion articles are usually very well written.  They often have two writers give opposing views on the same general topic so you can get both sides of the issue.  And if you want more detail about something or to do your own fact-checking, then google the specifics from the article and read up on it (but be mindful of how credible the source of the information is).  For budget stuff, the Congressional Budget Office is a good source.  The basic idea is to know both sides of the issue and use credible sources to get your facts down.
