Subject: I take particular offense to this: ''If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.'' Assuming there are even conservative homosexuals in the first place (I honestly don't know one and even if I did, I could not undestand being part of a movement that is so counterproductive to their RIGHTS). Conservatives, and the religious right are doing all they can to prevent homosexuals from having the same RIGHTS as everyone else has. You see them everywhere - lobbying against the rights of this segment of our population to simply just marry and have the same rights as straight married people. All these conservatives and religious freaks do is lobby for legislation to prevent this (does Prop 8 ring a bell?!). But perhaps if this restriction was being forced on african americans or another minority, you'd actually care (and so would everyone else - there would be anarchy - which is precisely my point)........DebS

Subject: I take offense to this. I am a Christian and I am conservative. I am not a freak and do not lobby against anyone's rights.

Subject: (lavendar) belle, better take offense somewhere else. the dems (who take offense at this post) never mind bashing conservative christians. which, of course, proves their great tolerance and wish for everyone to have each and every ''right'' they can come up with. well, except conservative christians.

Subject: well well well ms lavendar. you reps are doing a real good job of taking offense at the dems 'counter' posts. you'll just have to get used to backlashes when you create messes you want others to forget about so you can blame 'them' for the messes instead. Reps have to learn to take responsibility for the major errors they create instead of passing that responsibility on to the next administration.

Subject: Didn't you mean to say - ''you will just have to get used to backlashes when you want others to forget so you can blame the 'previous' administration? I think THAT is what you meant to say!

Subject: Just when is this president going to stop blaming everyone else for his messes??? He blames ''Washington'', when he lives at 1600 Penna Avenue!! He blames the previous administration for what he ''inherited''. No, he did not ''inherit'' anything. He ''coveted'' the presidency and the mess that went along with it. Don't you think it is about time he took some responsiblity for tripling the deficit, with more spending in sight? Just wait till the next pres gets in office. THEN he/she will really have a numbnut to blame!!

Subject: Thanks, BB. In the only mention of the $250,000+ tax bracket I see there, it says taxes will rise from 35% of income to 39.6%. An increase, yes, but hardly 70%. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing, and if so, perhaps you would be kind enough to point me in the right direction. Thanks. //SqueezeMe

Subject: I may well be wrong with this (I'm Cdn and not following all that closely..) but I think I recall a post where i&b summed up this tax issue... isn't the level of tax on those who are in the $250,000+ bracket going to be about the same as it was back in Reagan's day? /faysie
